I have come across this really powerful software for rendering and animation called Autodesk Maya.
This tool allows you to create time based animations with brilliant effects including smoke, fire, water, particles and much more!
In fact, Maya is one of the top tools in the movie industry with blockbuster like Transformers being one of their latest application.
